July 14, 2015. A VERY Bad Day.

In no particular order, here’s why Tuesday, July 14, 2015 was a particularly bad day in America… and really, the world.

1. OBAMA FORCES CONTRACEPTION ON NUNS Obama Admin tells nuns – Yes,Little Sisters of the Poor NUNS – they must facilitate the purchase of birth control.  (And as a bonus: these are nuns who minister to the poor – in hospice.  HOSPICE, okay?  Not a lot of nookie goin’ on in their daily ministry.  And their name?  Even their name should elicit gentleness and compassion in anyone with a conscience:  Little Sisters of the Poor.)

Little Sisters of the Poor2

I don’t even know how to comment on this story without crying.  Honestly.  And I’m a fallen woman.  An EX-Catholic, with no particular “brand” of faith to call my own.  So I’m no reflexive Catholic apologist.  But I’m not without wit.  I’m sentient.  I can read.  I know what our Founding was all about, what it means, why it means what it means… etc., etc., and this is just flabbergasting.

FURTHER READING:  If you’d like to so some reading on how this could happen in America, of all places, let me heartily recommend a brilliant America Thinker piece, U.S. Has Established a State Religion: What Now for Christians?, which echoes my thoughts beautifully.  It delineates how the federal government’s establishment of non-religion has become the functional equivalent of the federal government’s religion… which is sorta the opposite of the whole point of our country…

2.  BABY BODY PARTS FOR SALE (Taxpayer supported) Planned Parenthood is selling body parts… and evidently has no problem discussing the best way, during a late-term abortion, to crush-this-without-crushing-that, while keeping the profitable organs intact, and going over the minute details of this unimaginably evil practice while sipping wine over lunch at a restaurant.

I mean… What… What can you even say to that?

MEDIA MALPRACTICE: Meanwhile, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, The New York Times, and The Washington Post etc. is shoving a microphone in front of every single GOP Presidential candidate demanding they condemn Donald Trump over his remarks on the Mexican border (which were impolitic but substantially true) or be regarded as endorsing them, but not a single one of them has asked Hillary Clinton (or any other Democrat, candidate or not) if she stands with Planned Parenthood, will condemn thisSanger on weeds ghoulish practice, return the many thousands of dollars in campaign donations they’ve given her, awards they’ve given her, or be regarded as endorsing them.

It’s good to be a Democrat.

Margaret_Sanger-KKKFURTHER READING: If you’d like some further reading on the long, long ties between Planned Parenthood and the Democratic Party, here’s just one blog post I found on HRC’s, Obama’s, and Democratic support in general for PP. If you are unaware of the hideous genesis of Planned Parenthood, and you might well be since it’s been buried so well, Margaret Sanger founded it back in the Progressive Era.  She was a virulent racist, eugenicist, and spoke openly about how the purpose of “planned parenthood” wasmargaret-sanger-quote-about-negro-population the pulling of “weeds” from the population, i.e., ‘undesirables’… like blacks…

Again… If people only knew the truth of progressivism, how cold and calculating it was and remains (clearly!), there’s just no possible way you could embrace it.  And please don’t misunderstand:  it’s not that I am for a return to back-alley abortions.  I’m not.  That genie is out of the bottle.  But I do believe that third-trimester abortion should be severely restricted.  I mean… Good grief.  If you don’t know if you want to go through with a pregnancy until you’re 8 1/2 months along… the decision had been made for you, toots.  That baby is coming.  If you don’t want it, give it up for adoption.

3.  NUKES FOR MULLAHS The capitulation was finally complete this morning in Vienna.  We have a deal.  With Iran.  This piece at American Thinker pretty well sums up my feelings on the matter.  In short?  Obama just launched a Middle-East NUCLEAR arms race, and I don’t have a lot of confidence these medieval-mahdi-seeking-mullahs will exercise self-control.  If it’s not Israel’s death-warrant, it’s surely somebody’s… maybe a lot of somebodys…

And just for kicks, consider:  This President has gone out of his way, orchestrated a massive global effort, to see to it that Iran gets nukes, while simultaneously launching an equally aggressive domestic effort to see to it that his fellow Americans can’t have a lawful gun.  Got that?  Mullas and nukes = GOOD.  Fellow Americans and Second Amendment = BAD.

I guess you’d have to be a progressive to appreciate (or divine) any nuance in that.

FURTHER READING:  Mark Levin’s take on this (the Iran deal) is perfect.  Highly recommend listening to his 07/14/2015 podcast in full (It’s his entire 3 hour show – less than 2 hours because all the commercials are chopped out – and it’s free, every day), or you can read excerpts here.

So that’s July 14, 2015 in America.

And we’ve got 555 days more of this to go.

If we make it that far.

Everybody's an Expert – in D.C.

This kerfuffle over contraception/abortofacients/sterilization & the Catholic Church has exposed – AGAIN – the olympic hubris of the Left.

To hear them tell it, they are not only bureaucrats, but profit/loss insurance industry experts AND Ph.D.’s in theology.  The arguments they proffer in what to non-propagandized people is a SCREAMINGLY clear issue of 1st amendment religious liberty are TOTALLY tangential to the issue and UTTERLY pedantic.

First:  This meme that the insurance companies won’t be crushed by the cost of offering FREE contraception to EVERY AMERICAN who wants it and it will actually inure to their benefit because of the presumed, resulting diminution in expensive births begs the question: If these rapacious, greedy insurance companies really are as they’ve been sold, DON’T YOU THINK THEY WOULD BE DOING THIS ALREADY??????

So… what?  Now you’re an insurance expert AND a hack bureaucrat? Like your argument about the greedy insurance companies’  costs coming out in the wash YOU CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. Please…

And second, but related:  Now you’re a bureaucrat and a THEOLOGIAN?

WHO THE HELL ARE YOU to tell the Catholic Church – based on your vapid, stupid, COMPLETELY OFF-POINT laundry lists of stats about how many Catholics already break the church’s rules about these matters – THAT THEY ARE WRONG?

THE PLAINTIFF CLERGY ARE THE FOREMOST EXPERTS ON THEIR OWN – INFORMED – OPINONS OF WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THEIR FAITH – NOT YOU, YOU POMPOUS ASSES!

It doesn’t MATTER what YOU think.  It doesn’t MATTER if YOU think it doesn’t violate Catholic doctrine – or shouldn’t.

This is NOT YOUR DECISION to make. It’s THEIRS, you busy-body gimme-girl MORONS.

Rant over.

Obama's STUPIFYING GALL

Obama for America posted this “permission slip” as a “joke” on their site; as some sort of slam on opposition to their contraception mandate.

Obama Employer Authorization for Contraception

I’m AMAZED at the UNBELIEVABLE GALL of this.  THE PRESIDENT IS MOCKING people of faith who disagree with him.  He’s got the Catholic Church SUING HIM to get this overturned… and he’s MOCKING them.

OH MY GOD.  This guy is a soulless monster.  Just when I think it’s unbelievable how bloodless he is, he ups the ante.

Sandra Fluke: Helicopter-Parent Poster-Child

Okay.

I was going to let this go, because I remember what it was like to be a 20-something cat in heat and too stupid to have actually survived every stupid thing I stupidly did when I was twenty-something and stupid – Just like nearly ALL people in their 20’s are.

But I just saw this UNBELIEVABLY HELPLESS MAIDEN on television again and I HAVE to vent.

Sandra Fluke, if you are not familiar with her, was the oh-so-earnest witness testifying before Congress at the behest of Nancy Pelosi about her “women” friends “suffering” “medically” “financially” and “emotionally” because they had to pay for contraception. She tells of the painful experience of one top flight law student friend who had to walk away – embarrassed and painfully humiliated – from the pharmacy counter when she was told – to her shock SHOCK – that her insurance didn’t cover her right to partay.

And that was the least pathetic, mealy-mouthed thing Sister Victimhood “If only I were non-elite & oppressed enough to go to some cheap, sh*tty school instead of the one I was FORCED to go to against my will at $60,000 per year, I could f*ck like a rabbit” had to say…

First problem:  No grown “woman” worthy of the designation is that helpless.

Second problem:  THIS is the caliber of grit and resourcefulness you get from TOP FLIGHT $60,000 PER YEAR GEORGETOWN law school educated lawyers?  I’ll take the state school grad who had to fight and scrap to get there, thank you. I mean, PLEASE.  If THIS is what rises to the level of an intractable problem for this lawyer, worthy of CONGRESSIONAL FRICKING TESTIMONY, I’d hate to see what happens if the judge denies her a motion or talks nasty to her.  OH MY GOD.

Third problem:  This is the grown-up version of the child of the helicopter-mom.  This is a child who has looked to someone else to manage her and clean up her messes HER WHOLE LIFE.

SUCKS TO BE YOU, CUPCAKE.  So if having the insurance coverage Georgetown provides is a deal breaker because it doesn’t cover nookie then YOU NEED TO MAKE A GROWN UP DECISION about your F*CKING PRIORITIES IN LIFE.  A GROWN UP realizes that NOTHING IN LIFE IS PERFECT.  If it’s THAT important to you to have state-paid nookie, GO TO A F*CKING STATE SCHOOL AND BRING A TOWEL.

OR KEEP YOUR LEGS SHUT.

OR FIND A GUY TO BUY HIS OWN CONDOMS.

OR GIVE UP YOUR STARBUCKS TWICE A WEEK.

OR CONSIDER THAT YOU ARE SO F*CKING LUCKY TO BE WHERE YOU ARE AND IT’S F*CKING UNSEEMLY FOR YOU TO ASK THE STATE FOR NOOKIE MONEY WHEN YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT RESOURCES – ONE WAY OR ANOTHER – TO ATTEND GEORGTOWN F*CKING LAW SCHOOL.

I can’t wait to see the next congressional testimony from this girl.  She’ll be asking for mandated orgasms or something.

OH MY GOD.

Rant over.

Sally Kohn: Traffic Court = Supreme Court

The new Soros muffin Fox recently hired as a “balanced” Contributor just made a truly stupid argument – a.k.a. packed full of Proggie dishonesty and vapidity – from the standard Commie a-la-carte menu of straw-men, benevolent despotism, etc. comfort food – in defense of Obama’s ghastly Federal overreach into the Church by saying that (I can’t believe she’s this stupid, or thinks we are. She actually seems like a good scout, though I feel link screaming every time I listen to her shallow reasoning.) “the state compels people to do things all the time, like stopping at stop signs.”

Okay, chickie, but:

1. Not stopping at the stop sign won’t get me or the other guy pregnant.

2. Not stopping at the stop sign will not violate the religious beliefs of any religion I know of.

3. Not stopping at a stop sign is a good way to get killed, so one doesn’t really need the state to tell you to do it except as a method of revenue collection.

4. It’s LOCAL not FEDERAL.

I could go on, but I’ll stop there.

It reminds me of the mandate argument libs used during the health care debate:  “You have to buy insurance for your car!”

Yeah, well, I wasn’t born a BUICK.  Driving is a privilege, not a right.  It is enforced by the STATE, and the insurance is for THE OTHER GUY, not ME IN CASE I hit them – it is RISK based, as it is, by definition “insurance” – not COVERAGE which is what ObamaCare is…

*sigh*

(While typing this, I have the White House Daily Press Briefing on. Carney just said he didn’t want to tell the Senate how to do its business in response to a question about how Harry Reid is leading the Senate… not 3 minutes after he told the Catholic Church how to to its business by forcing them to pay for what is literally murder in their minds – the morning after pill.  Must be nice to be an amazingly elastic liberal.)
